An MBA from the Indian School of Business, Subhashini Prasad quit her banking job to pursue her passion for writing. Her first book, Not Really Indian, is a collection of ten short stories about women who have lived in India and abroad. It ranked among Amazon’s 50 Bestsellers in the first month of release and has over 100 reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Outlook India and The Statesman named the collection as a must-read anthology for 2021. In 2020, she won Runner-Up, Beyond-the-Box Storyteller of the Year Award. She has also written a children’s story called Hoo and Hau, published on Story weaver. Recently, Deccan Herald named her among 10 personalities to have ventured into a field unknown to them. Subhashini currently lives in London with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she loves dancing and doing yoga..

She lived in Spain and in Washington, DC before returning to her home state of North Carolina where she currently resides. After she experienced healing from compulsive overeating in her early 30’s, Joy wrote a course for women called Releasity, which helps women break free from emotional overeating.
